Our Story

At the corner of Maiden Lane and E. Pine Street is the current site of The Meat Locker. It was built in 1946 by Frank Zachek as a Frozen Food Locker Plant, later sold to Rex Swoboda who sold it to Warren Wellner in the early 1960's. Earl Leiterman then purchased the business in 1999 and re-named the business The Village Meats, Inc.

Just over two decades later, in October 2023, the local butcher shop has changed ownership and is now called The Meat Locker LLC. We will continue to provide the quality meats you expect with a small town atmosphere. Look for a line of smoked products added to the menu in the near future.

We invite you to stop in and see all The Meat Locker LLC has to offer!
